Analysts Are Becoming Bots (Literally) and I Refuse to Join Them
I’ve got the technicals down, but I’m trying to figure out what actually makes an incredible analyst. Too many just spit out what they’re told, no judgment, no real thought. I want to be the one who brings sharp opinions and sees the full picture, not just another execution bot.
I’m from a non-target, aiming for tech FT roles this fall, and I’m also thinking ahead, AI and Excel automation are coming fast. I don’t want to get replaced by it, I want to be the guy who knows how to use it and think beyond it.
Not looking for generic advice. Just want to know what do the top analysts actually do (or will do) differently that AI and average performers can’t?

The best analysts are not bots and do not only do what they're told. They have the ability to replace the associate at any given time. Your post reads like you haven't had enough exposure to the industry. Network more
