Analysts/Associates at BB/EB, what % of calls turn into referrals (SA) ?
Like the title, says, I want to know the percent of networking calls you get that you refer to a summer analyst position. Obviously you don't know exactly, just looking for an estimate. Don't count calls that are from people you have a prior relationship with. To clarify, I mean referral as in refer to someone who has a say in the application process, not just pass along to another analyst/associate. thanks

Associate at BB here - so far, 0%. A few tips to be successful: send thank you emails, provide your resume ahead of the call, be prepared with questions, do your research on the firm. One kid told me no one from his UG worked at my firm... I could think of 3 off the top of my head.
Quick question, when I network with someone after the call they ask me to shoot them a follow up in a few days so that I can remind them to connect me with others on their team and I usually send my thank you note with that follow up, is the 2-3 day gap rude to not thank them? I start the call off thanking them for their time.
If they explicitly give you a time line like that then it’s fine to wait. Otherwise, rule of thumb is within 24 hours.
I am still not sure about the sending in my resume things in the cold email, wouldn't that make it seem like you are networking to use that person for a referall? and wouldnt you send in resume if they ask for it.
Not in initial cold email - but at the point you’ve set up the call, then send it. Most common practice is to attach it to the calendar invite.
Just stop sending me emails with subject lines like "Non-target looking for a shot" , or referring to my firm as an "EB" in actual spoken conversation. I get it, you read this website, but it comes off very poorly.
BB here - I'd say ~10%. If you're well spoken and have a genuine interest in my group I'll push you to other ANL's / ASO's. If they like you as well then I'll recommend you to my staffer.
How does one know if they are referred for a 1st round? I have been networking and after each call they refer me to another analyst or associate and cc them. Is this a good sign?

I don't refer without 2-3 recommendations from other juniors, so if you are getting referrals to analysts/associates that's not a bad sign.
So once we've had good calls with 3 people at a firm, is that enough, or should we keep going? What's a good sign that we've got a recommendation?

Most recruiting at my BB is done at the school level, so don’t think “referrals” are much of a thing. If someone from my school calls me and I have a good conversation, I will put them in touch with other analysts on my school’s team. When it comes time to review resumes, if enough people on the team had a positive interaction with you, you’ll likely make the cut for first round. If you didn’t go to my school and I really enjoyed talking to you, I’ll probably ping an analyst who went to your school if I know one.
