Any one knows Dundon Advisers?
Seems like a boutique RX firm based in NY. Seniors all come from well-knowned RX shops or distressed funds. Have several deals in entertainment industry. Any one familiar with this firm? Comps, exit, .... appreciate any inputs!
I have interviewed with them in the past and have a former colleague of mine work there. I don’t think I know much about comp but I understand the part of the firm I was interviewing for may be most comparable to the RX advisory like AlixPartners and the like potentially. I think they do other things like investment banking restructuring and asset management / more hedge fund analyst/advisory stuff potentially but idk. From my own research on them at the time I think the founder Matt(?) Dundon may have a good reputation on the street and be fairly well respected in his space. I hope this helps even just a bit. Good luck and best wishes.
Thanks very much for the insights! How do you think of the exit? Do you think it is a good experience for lateralling to more knowned RX shops (PJT/EVC/HL) or BB IBD?
You are welcome. I don’t really know. I would think exits might be comparable to like someone exiting from AlixPartners or the other restructuring financial advisor shops. I think I have seen one person go from one of those to HL RX. I’m not sure otherwise. But it sounds like a decently similar skillset to IB RX from the little I know about it
Any new insights?
Bump
Interned at one of their competitors (M3/Province/BRG) this summer and from what I saw they have the most number of UCC mandates after Province and FTI. Committee assignments seem to be their bread and butter
I've definitely heard they've become the go-to for UCC mandates. Any commentary on comp compared to Province/FTI?
Don’t have much color on comp but assume would be higher than Province given the former has higher head count and is sponsor owned. FTI is more institutionalized but gets more and bigger mandates.
How was your experience this summer? Where was your office?
Can’t mention location since I’d probs get doxxed but I’d say it was a good summer. I was on some mega bankruptcies and saw some pitches close. The people were sharp and did contribute to my development. I don’t like the legal-ish nature of UCC work and didn’t get any exposure to debtor side mandates or out of court LMEs but regardless learnt a lot
