Anyone else stuck waiting on official Goldman offer after a verbal?

I received a verbal offer from Goldman (lateral) a while back but still haven’t received the official written offer. Recruiter says it’s in progress, but the wait is starting to feel long.

For those who’ve been through this, how long did it take for your official offer to come through? Is this normal at GS?

Not at GS, but if this is in NYC it's not too unusual. There's a somewhat new background check law that makes the process insanely long. Have they asked you for any background check stuff?

Source: have hired several people and the written offer always takes forever, always have candidates hitting me up trying to accelerate it and it's not something we can control
