anyone else think this job is hard af? Analyst struggling

I always see people saying as an analyst you dont use your brain at all and even monkies can do thid job, etc.

8 months in and I still think this job is crazy hard… maybe I am just stupid incompetent and destined for bottom bucket, but any other first years really struggling?

Depends on what your situation is. What type of bank/group are you in? If you were a first year at Qatalyst vs Lincoln, there's a wider expectation gap. I think the first 5 months are typically touted as admin/PPT work, but that doesn't mean you are asleep at the wheel. Everyday/every detail/every mistake is painting you in the eyes of seniors. No one expects perfection but 8 months in I feel like you should be over the wall. What is it that you're struggling with? Is it more modeling? Hours? Lack of detail?
