Are you completely misreable as an IB/ IB intern?

Hello,

I have recently begun applying for IB internships. I am quite excited for the position if I were too secure one and really enjoyed my investment analysis courses and financial modeling courses. However, I do have one true worry about IB.

It's the hours...

I have never worked 120 hours a week 6-7 days a week. Is this what most beginning bankers truly work or am I out of touch with the expected hours?

How are you able to remain non-depressed? I feel like doing that for 2 years would truly make me feel like my youth is slipping away and I'm trading it for meaningless paper that I can't enjoy whatsoever.

How do you stay balanced if those are the hours you work week in and week out.

I enjoy things like exercise, getting laid, stopping at the bar for an occasional drink, kayaking, eating out, sight seeing etc.

I don't see myself having even an hour a week for any type of recreational activity w/ working IB hours.

So, I don't know, hopefully somebody can shed some light on this for me.
