Asked to come in to meet the team at botique shop? Help?

Hey guys so after networking and talking to a small 10 person IB shop they’ve asked me to come in and meet the team. I don’t really know what this will be like as far as questions or if they’re just trying to feel me out. I also am not sure what to wear. So if anyone has been through something similar I would love to hear about what to expect. Thanks

Prepare on the basic technicals, and definitely wear a suit and tie (unless this is a city like SF, then go business casual). Essentially they’re testing how much time they need to spend to train you to be useful (strong technicals and work examples will alleviate fears), how you fit in with the culture since you’ll be working with probably everyone there, plus one last vetting of your professionalism. Don’t be mistaken, this is an interview until you have an offer

I completely agree, any tips on how to keep things light & flowing since it’s going to be a few hour ordeal ? Much appreciated.

I wouldn’t worry too much about studying everyone. That could come off as weird / creepy to know too many people in such detail before meeting them. I would just generally look through and try to get the “vibe” of the office if there is one. Maybe if you find something interesting about a couple people that you can really relate to bring that up.

I would say that schedules permitting, everyone will try to talk to you. You’ll meet more than half for sure

I’m not sure why the person I networked with there would have an effect on what I would wear ? Also I’m running on a low budget, semi-target kid pushing his way through with minimal funds...don’t think I can afford “horse-bit white sleds” or a “nice watch” but I do have some nice Armani exchange shoes and a blue Ralph Lauren suit. Do you think that will suffice ?

All I have is a Ralph Lauren blue suit jacket with matching suit pants and a white dress shirt. I also have a gold nautica tie and black Armani shoes. I could slap on the ole fake Rolex, but that might be a bad move. So that’s all I’m working with here...on another note do you have any tips on handling nerves during the process ? I haven’t been through anything of this nature before

What type of firm do you work for ? And what do you wear on a day to day basis ? Just trying to get an idea of your opinions based on the type of bank you work for because this is a small shop bear in mind...
