No, a gap is when you have an actual empty period of time on your CV. Say you graduated in September 2020 and started work on July 2021, you would have a gap between september and july that will trigger a demand for proof that you were not working, which is usually just a request for a screenshot of your bank statements showing that you didn't earn anything above 500£ during the gap

 

I omitted an unpaid internship and nothing got flagged during my background check. Now since it was unpaid I'm not sure if that changes everything, but regardless I signed a contract and everything. I think you should be fine
