If you don't declare it, nothing criminal/disciplinary happened and you don't have a cv gap (since then they will ask for your bank account statement) I think you are fine. I got my background checked and had a gap, so they asked me for bank statements around the gap, but nothing more

No, a gap is when you have an actual empty period of time on your CV. Say you graduated in September 2020 and started work on July 2021, you would have a gap between september and july that will trigger a demand for proof that you were not working, which is usually just a request for a screenshot of your bank statements showing that you didn't earn anything above 500£ during the gap
(1) They only check the stuff that you declared and (2) You should only declared the employment listed on your resume
You have nothing to worry about as long as the information you declared matches your cv and everything listed there in, including dates and title, is correct.

I omitted an unpaid internship and nothing got flagged during my background check. Now since it was unpaid I'm not sure if that changes everything, but regardless I signed a contract and everything. I think you should be fine

I had an unpaid internship on my resume for sophomore internship back in college. I didn't put it down on my background check as it technically isn't a 'job' (since unpaid) and so far gone through 3 background checks and never been a problem (BB/EB/UMM PE)
