Background Check - SA position

Hi, I need to complete a background check for an SA position at BB. One part is to list past employers/internships and phone #'s from up to a few years ago. Seeing as I was in HS and I lost all contact information and it was not on my resume during the interviews, will they hold it against me for NOT listing it? Because truthfully I don't have any information/numbers/references from 3+ years ago.

Thanks in advance!

I would suggest filling in whatever information you can remember off the top of your head. That should be sufficient for background check purposes.

Eventually, when you are FINRA registered, only your employment history after graduation (sometimes during college) is listed. I wouldnt worry too much about stuff during/before high school.

What does the background check process entail at a BB? Do they send you these forms once you've received an offer, or do they conduct these checks prior to giving you an offer for SA?

The background checks are done post-offer. If they find any irregularities, they will fire you for cause.

Depending on the firm, the background checks can be very thorough, but at the very least include verification of education (major, GPA, etc.), criminal history and credit check.

This is slightly troubling. I was a bit more liberal than I should have been in rounding up my GPA (3.63 to a 3.7) during resume submission for FT recruiting. Got an offer. Recently, the bank asked me to submit an updated resume with GPA. Will the background check company compare transcripts with the updated GPA or the one used during the interviews?

You can just submit one with your actual GPA then. I think the updated one will be used to conduct the background check.

How big of change are you talking about ? If its changed meaningfully (you failed or got below a B in one or more classes), you should discuss this with your career development office.

I know it was stupid. No excuse for it and I sure as shit will NEVER be doing that again. Causes way too much anxiety and stress.

@user_: Thanks for posting. Did / do you work for a BB?
