BAML Global Transaction Services VS GS Credit Risk?

Hi guys,

Just wanna know your thoughts on a credit risk role in Goldman Sachs, or a transaction services role in Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

I understand that the GTS role is FO as there will be sales and pitches involved, while credit risk is MO. However, the starting compensation from GS is higher than the role in GTS.

Thanks in advance!

GTS - providing clients with transaction banking (and cash mgmt. depending on how the bank is set up) services / offerings.

credit risk - making sure FO investment bankers don't underwrite anything that is too risky for the bank (i.e. anything that the fed will investigate during their audit)

I would personally recommend GTS given it is FO, but really depends on what you want to do long term.

hey, thanks for your input flying_nomad.

I understand that it is not easy to make the jump from MO to FO, but personally I am inclined to taking up the credit risk role as I feel that there will be more emphasis on risk management in the future and I'm not sure if I would be able to do well in a client-facing role since I am kind of introverted.

While I have you here, do you know what are the common exit opps for credit risk?

Thanks a ton!
