Barc vs WF for IB (Generalist)
I was lucky enough to receive offers from both Barclays and Wells Fargo this recruiting season (along with Blair, but not too interested in that), and now have to figure out which bank to go with. I guess most people I ask tell me Barclays is the no-brainer, but I've been seeing lot's of news here and in general about MDs leaving Barclays and their general decline, while Wells Fargo seems to be doing really well for themselves. I'm probably a two-and-out type of person, but I'm not recruiting for PE (probably interested in Corpdev or something of the sort) so I would likely start interviewing for the next position as a 2nd year analyst and not during my senior year of college as far as I'm aware. With all that said, I'd really appreciate any advice or comments anyone has.
Wells Fargo ny or charlotte?
New York for wf and Barc
Barclays should be the easy choice
Barclays is still decent, would prob take it over WF
Barclays without a doubt.
While Barclays has seen some losses, overall the firm is still stronger than WF and it will take still quite a bit for the latter to catch up. Although you might only be interested in corp dev, there are almost always career rewards for going with the stronger brand name.
