By paying the people that actually sourced deals (see above, some people got paid) and bringing in a fresh batch of eager junior bankers to execute.
Yup. Anyone not directly tied to revenue gets fucked with the expectation they jump ship and the fresh new bunch of grads / people at lesser banks will jump for the name brand.
Is Barclays using the BAML approach of low bonuses to push out individuals without layoffs? Maybe this is designed as part of the restructuring?
The problem with comparing it with the BofA approach is that BofA screwed everyone across every bucket. It is not like the top bucket people at BofA got paid well either from what I hear.
