Already a few threads out there but Barclays Menlo has improved significantly in recent years. Not too much M&A since Qatalyst and GS monopolize tech M&A, but they do well in ECM/DCM (current environment is tough) and LBO financing, and are probably ranked #4 rn amongst the BB banks for tech after GS/MS/JPM. The two most senior bankers in the tech group (Laurence Braham and Mark Zanoli) sit in the MP office, although the NY tech group also has some strong MDs.

Recent exits in the last 2 years include Evergreen, Symphony Technology Group, Searchlight, and various other growth and MM tech buyout shops.

I hear culture is really great, and is a reason people occasionally try to switch to MP office from NY if they’re ok with living in a boring suburb. The SF office in Embarcadero 4 that just opened is really beautiful, and a lot of the juniors work from there a couple days a week despite; seems like there is some resistance from the senior bankers to fully transition from MP to SF. Overall most of the people I know there are very happy and only leave to pursue other interests (growth, VC, etc.)
