Best Programs for F1 STEM-OPT Extension: Seeking Insights

Hey WSO community,

Hope you're all doing well! đź‘‹ I'm currently exploring MBA/Masters in Finance programs and aiming for the 36-month F1 STEM-OPT extension. Wondering if anyone has insights on programs that offer the most favorable options for international students in this regard. Your experiences and recommendations would be incredibly helpful. Thanks in advance for the wisdom!

Cheers.

- Research the entire process for studying, internships, OPT jobs, and eventually H1b sponsorship. The rules/regulations around this change often and it is a fluid environment. The number of applicants also goes up consistently
- Try landing at a target school for your industry, to increase the odds of finding a sponsor
- Understand they key players in the value chain of finding, hiring and sponsoring international students (companies, industries, locations/cities, ..)

You are paying out-of-state/international tuition, so the costs will be very high. Better make the best of it in attending a really good school.

Easy, for the programs you have in mind, just google search if that program has STEM designation.. most schools advertise the fact in brochure or promotional materials, or just email and ask a admin counsellor

I don’t have the latest, but I remember from a few years back Harvard, Cornell did not have STEM
