Best RX Reads

Dear all,

What are your favorite books on financial restructuring? I am aware Moyer is the holy grail, but it feels too much like a textbook, rather than a book you would read for pleasure.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

New book came out recently called "The Caesars Palace Coup" and it runs through the 2006 Caesars LBO w/ Apollo & TPG, its timeline, and eventual Ch. 11 filing in 2015. For me it's a great read so far; I'm about 1/3 of the way thru. Not very technical/educational, but simply a solid, fun read. Overall the authors did a great job, and if you're new to rx, they offer some explanations for certain events/actions/maneuvers as well. 10/10 recommend.

I second this, wonderful read. One of the authors is at FT (Sujeet Indap) so you can get his style of writing there (though obviously less narrative). FT series on Greensill has also been fun to follow, could definitely see a book coming out of it since TCPC showed demand for stylized non-fiction RX drama.

Would also recommend the PETITION newsletter for colorful weekly newsletters

As someone who worked on Caesars, it was a good read and brought back a lot of PTSD and war flashbacks. They definitely gloss over a decent amount, but try to make it entertaining and simplify complex topics. Definitely recommend. Moyer's chessbook is really the bible behind rx/distressed but it's more of a textbook and technical. HL case study is easy to find online and walks through much the same.
