Big 4 - Valuation and Business Modeling

Hello WSO,

I am starting in a Big 4 Transaction Advisory Services this fall and I wanted to reach out for some advice. I will be working in their valuation and business modeling group as an associate. The type of work involves valuing companies in deal environments, tax analysis for private equity clients, and strategic value advisory for C-suite projects. I do not plan on being there for long and I hope to lateral into an investment banking analyst program after nine months to a year. Given that my goals may change over the course of my employment, I also am interested in moving into a business analyst role at a strategy shop or an analyst role at an economic consulting group. Does anyone have any advice on tailoring my experience in the group to improve my chances of said lateral movements? This could be specific project experiences that I should be involving myself in, networking strategies, or project/deal details I should invest more time in understanding. Currently am an undergrad at a non-target school with a double major in Finance and Economics. I also have previous intern experience at a small economic consulting firm as a summer analyst and at another Big 4 group, specifically in their structured finance advisory group. Thanks for the help!
