Biggest pet peeves with interns
Hey y’all,
I’m doing my first internship in banking, I’m just curious of what minor things I should avoid to not annoy everyone. Obviously I’m going avoid being a Jack ass and I will be paying attention to details, but I’m curious of finding out about not so obvious things that interns do that ding them. Thanks in advance!

Also an intern but I know a common one is never ask the same question twice and before you do ask a question try to look it up. Obviously, if a questions is deal related and unique just ask who your staffed with but in general always google or even Chatgpt first. Chatgpt has been very useful for concepts and definition type questions for me imo better than google answer
Thanks!
Chatgpt, Google, and other interns could be a good place to start asking questions
I appreciate the answer, I’ve been using bard a lot recently and it’s been a lot of help
F7 is your best friend. Print things out to look over. Don’t go to sleep before deliverables are sent. Don’t talk about fight club.
Take notes on calls, ask questions (not finance more process-oriented questions), don’t throw your fellow interns under the bus.
Smile. Be friendly. Don’t complain, we’re all in the trenches with you and we’ll be in the trenches when you’re gone.
Don’t drink too much at the happy hour. Don’t flirt with anyone at the workplace.
Cannot say this enough, do not. Flirt. With your coworkers. Seriously, yeah fucking the VP is a great way to have a return offer until you don’t want to be valued by your bodily functions.
And on the intern level, when your summer fling finishes you’re then stuck in the same office with them, and even worse sometimes they’re in your group.
Best of luck!
