Biglaw to IB stories?

Currently an undergraduate in a target school in Europe (super target for biglaw, maybe semi-target for IB in LDN). I have an internship in the M&A department at a biglaw firm but want to break into IB. I also have another internship in M&A (not the legal side) at a Boutique.

Is it normal for lawyers to switch to IB? I am worried that the legal internship may not be valued by banks, I’d love to hear any stories you may have about people in similar situation who broke (or not) into IB.
