Biting off more than I can chew?

I’m 9 months into an analyst role at one of the big law firms that leads the industry in Rx transactions (think Kirkland/Weil/PW/Latham). I have highly transferable skills to make it into IB. Looking to make my transition into IB Rx soon but I’m worried I don’t have the credentials to make the leap. Coming from a non-target with less than a 3.5gpa, would it be best to pivot and do a part-time MFin to wipe the slate clean with a new GPA or try a part time MBA program to break in as an associate? I have strong connections/network but worried it won’t be enough.

Any advice is appreciated 🙏

Go on LinkedIn and look up people that have made switch from big law to IB or who were in similar situation to you. See whether they did Masters, MBA, or made switch directly. Click through every Rx shop and shoot them emails. 2025 SA recruiting just wrapped for Rx so offer to chat with them in the next few months. This is my take and what I would do

Best Regards mate
