Bloomberg Question - Need to pull M&A deals
I've never really used a Bloomberg terminal but need to pull M&A deals worth over $10 billion for the last decade for a project. I also need to analyze the change in stock price from 2 days before deal announcement to 2 days after the announcement date for each transaction. Is there an easy way to do this with Bloomberg without having to look up each individual announcement date and then the stock price 2 days before and after on yahoo finance?
Interested in this as well. Thanks guys.
the 1st half is very easy
MA custom, enter date range, $ size etc. there are plenty of good features here
as far as the stock return for the days, I would use yahoo...I'm not sure if Bloomberg holds daily returns for all equities past 5 years
also WRDS (Wharton) can be used for daily returns but for your purposes it doesn't seem necessary
For the daily stock returns I would just find a site where you can download the daily prices and do a return calculation in excel. If your still in college check out the wrds site like adapt mentioned. Should make things pretty simple.
