Probably like any other year across the bank. The M&A teams will be happy because they get paid well despite generating fees compared to captial markets which is the strength of this bank.
Can only comment on Cap Markets since I know a few people there but no one was happy. Message was basically that this bank is incapable of delivering even in record years.
I have no clue why they would pay M&A... What deal was BNP lead on in 2024?? They barely win mandates and cost more than what they bring in.
Idk about the US, in FFM they have the reputation, that they are on a largecap deal here and there and usually in the upper mid market segment. Here they seem to do quite well. Anyways, here they also dont pay well if my friends told me the truth.

Bonus was below average, entire team morale is down, people talking about recruitment.

What did bonuses look like in % terms?
Brother, so low that 1/3 of my Graduate cohort is gone. Some of them closed good deals (DSV / Schenker) or part of best performing teams.
