Bonus structure

Dear Monkeys,

Greetings from Scandinavia!

I will be joining a very small M&A advisory boutique (5 people, all partners) in a few weeks time. Although I have signed the employment agreement we have yet to agree on a bonus scheme/structure (I am their first analyst/associate ever). My thinking was a % of every deal, after covering my own expenses (fixed salary), although may be more complicated than it sounds as the analyst/associate contribution (read: value in USD) to a deal is really not straight forward. Any advise or inputs would be greatly appreciated? I bring approx 5 years of analyst/associate experience from MM

Thx
