Boutique analyst through the schoolyear lateral advice
I have been working as an analyst (my title is not intern) at a small boutique throughout this year of school. I go to an unranked state school in the Northwest, and have a pretty good gpa (3.4+).
Will upper MM's be interested in me if I start to network with them? Is one full school year of IB M&A experience enough to get a job with the big(er) boys? I have not closed a single deal, and this is what worries me. I graduate this year, and am in need of assistance!
Try to get some deal experience as soon as possible. Yes, and keep networking. Getting a job is more about networking and office politics these days than it is about skill.
I'm in a similar situation in respect to my title being analyst despite being in school...do you think people would think it's weird? Confused whether or not to put it on my resume
No, just put it there, and if they ask why you are called an analyst, explain it to them.
Bump.
bump.
