Boutique analyst through the schoolyear lateral advice

I have been working as an analyst (my title is not intern) at a small boutique throughout this year of school. I go to an unranked state school in the Northwest, and have a pretty good gpa (3.4+).

Will upper MM's be interested in me if I start to network with them? Is one full school year of IB M&A experience enough to get a job with the big(er) boys? I have not closed a single deal, and this is what worries me. I graduate this year, and am in need of assistance!

Try to get some deal experience as soon as possible. Yes, and keep networking. Getting a job is more about networking and office politics these days than it is about skill.
