Buyside SA -> IB Full Time?

Hi! I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on recruiting full time for IB/has been in a similar situation. For some background, I go to a target state school, have a 3.8 in a humanities major, interned at a MM and did IB my sophomore summer, this upcoming summer am interning at a LMM special situations investing firm. The city sophomore summer was Tier 2 and this summer will be in NYC. Looking to recruit for IB in NYC. Is this doable? Willing to recruit for Lev Fin/RX types of seats but would love to hear feedback!

Been in a similar situation with a similarish resume, landed on my feet. It is possible but options are very limited. No EBs have full time seats, and the occasional one or two is always taken by a lateral from Wharton. Bulge brackets who had an uptick in activity will have seats, and MMs will have seats, so focus there. NYC is especially competitive, but I landed three supers there (I have been here for a while and took an offer elsewhere, wanted to get out of the city). Recruiting for the 2028 FT will start in late july/august so be networking in june. Spend your lunches on calls, early mornings on calls, late evenings on calls. It is going to suck really, really bad but if you keep up with your work, you'll be alright. And to be very honest, NYC sounds great and is great, but you will be wanting to leave after two years. The place is a giant copy paste and if you value sincerity, this isnt the place. Chicago, Charlotte, TX, all places where youll make the same money with the same exits with less Uncle Sam and a better apt/lifestyle. Just keep your options open is all.
