CAIA vs. CFA as signal to employers
I've seen a number of posts advocating using a CFA as a way to demonstrate interest in finance to employers when one is coming from a non finance background. I wondered though if there's any opinion on using the CAIA instead to accomplish a similar signal.
I know the CFA is way more recognized and, for context, I'm not expecting either certificate to be my my foot in the door, as I'll be trying to move into finance from a top MBA program. What attracts me to the CAIA is the education itself -- a deeper dive into areas of finance that I think are more aligned with my long-term interests. However, I'd like to know whether the certification is capable of signaling my interest or if it just add more strangeness to my non-traditional background.
