Can GRE get you into HSW?

I know that the GMAT has a higher ceiling than the GRE and can be a potential difference maker, but if you have an otherwise strong profile, does it matter a lot? I'm generally much stronger with math, but I struggle a ton with the data insights portion of the GMAT, feels like you have to think so hard throughout the exam, while GRE seems super practiceable since it's basically a vocab test.

I'm incoming at MBB, T20 undergrad, 3.97 GPA, is this profile enough to get in to HSW, assuming that I manage to get around a ~330? I'd be happy going to the rest of the M7, but HSW is my goal. I have basically 6 months of free time to study -- should I grit it out with the GMAT or stick with the GRE?

I don't know what GRE score is equivalent to GMAT, but yes, they really do consider a strong GRE the same as a strong GMAT. I didn't believe it when I applied (and did the GMAT instead), but the more I know, the more it seems to be viewed basically equivalently.

Having said this, basically no one is guaranteed at H/S. Assuming you can put together a good application, you have a fine shot at W, but the first two really can be pretty random and need a true differentiator.

You can take a practice GMAT after studying for a week or two. See how it feels. If it feels easier and you score really well, then focus on it. If not, stick with what you know in the GRE. It really doesn’t matter. Just do whichever one you can score higher in. That is all that matters.
