Can someone explain the CIM process?

My company was sold a bit before I joined and I was able to find our CIM on the shares drive. Flipped through it today and was not expecting 100 slides breaking down every possible aspect of the company. Is this level of detail typical? I do feel I have a better understanding overall of our business even though I’ve been here for a few months now just from reading the deck.
