Can we unionize?

Will keep this one short. I am at a EB and the maltreatment of juniors (particularly analysts) has reached inhumane levels. The job is unsustainable and is thus causing Juniors to flood out the doors. Is it possible to unionize to get some form of protections for the mental / physical health of junior bankers?

Do banks not realize they are driving away a lot of talent? Are they genuinely this shortsighted or are they smart for knowing that there are a 100 people lined up to take your place if you leave? You would think the mass-quitting would be enough of a punishment for them. Also the massive blow on their image.

Its interesting bc the worst hardos I’ve met are also the ones who crap their pants first when things get intense.

Only someone who hasn’t really experienced a sweatshop will act like its the workers fault for not wanting to be treated like utter shit. I guess if your MD peed on your face and told you it’s raining you would apologize for getting your suit wet.

To the OP, you could try, but I can guarantee you you’d have not just your bank but the whole industry come after you. They stand to lose a lot (and honestly so do we as the first thing to change would be salaries/bonuses if we were to unionize). For a bank its much more damaging a massive talent loss than unionizing
