Canadian Bank GPA

Hey everybody,

I know the GPA questions have been answered before, but I'd argue that this summer recruiting season is quite different, from what I heard summer recruiting will be down this year because of the economy (source from a bank), which brings me to my question:

Assuming a candidate had a 3.62 GPA and a 3.71 major GPA plus 3 internships in IB and PE over seas (solid experience, built DCFs, spread comps, prepared presentations, lots of responsibility at the PE fund) plus he/she started an investment club with which raised 30k or so and they networked quite a bit.

What are the chances at getting interviews here? Is the GPA a problem? I don't seem to get a straight answer from people in the industry, some say solid work experience prevail, others say it doesn't matter in undergrad; I'd like some input from anyone whose gone through the process or that has information with regards to this recruiting season.

Thanks!

depends on what school - 3.6 from ivey/queens should get you an interview, but what i noticed from cad banks is that your gpa carries a lot of weight during/after interview as well
