Capital One IB?

Just saw that Capital One posted IB applications for capital markets (leveraged finance, derivatives, structured products) and M&A (Kipps and Triple Tree).

Does anyone have any insight into their presence and maybe growth trajectory? Would starting off in capital markets there be a good opportunity to get one’s foot in the door? Thanks!

Small IB group within CapitalOne itself, TripleTree and Kipps are much more established and do very well in their respective niches. TT in particular kills it in the MM Healthcare IT and Tech verticals and seems to be winning larger mandates recently. Comp is street (if not slightly higher) so great place to be if you value deal reps and don’t care about prestige.

Thanks for the reply. Do you think it’s a place that could allow for lateral opportunities to other banks down the line?

TT gives you a lot of lateral opportunities or even MM PE placement, but will be wary that there’s a massive waiting list for Analysts to change to NY office, so you will most likely be in Minneapolis for at least a year.

COS has done a few lead left/joint book runner deals and from what I see they are lean and effective. TT’s presence in Healthcare & IT is reputable and their NYC headcount is growing. Kipps is an established ADG player on the sell-side with an upside in growth since more PE shops are buying.

Did the SA interview process with C1, whole process took less than a month.
