Car Recommendations
Hello all, as title says I am interested to hear some car recommendations for a new, young, and aspiring IB analyst in 2025 (me).
For some context, I don't really know anything about cars (obviously) and I currently drive a sedan that is very reliable but I'm looking for something more flashy and fun. Not looking for something super unreliable and that is going to randomly break down though. Looking for a decent middle ground here.
TLDR: What's a cool (somewhat reliable) car a new finance professional can get? Should I even get one or wait?
Appreciate all advice you can give on this, cheers!
Work past 10 & get a Cab
Is this what people usually do? I'm not going to be in NYC so driving is an option.

Don't think it's worth. Especially if you're not actually into cars (no offense but sort of evidenced by you not knowing about them). Drive a beater for a couple more years then consider getting something proper fun. I say this as a big car enthusiast who is into supercars. From my perspective they are worth it if you are into cars because it's really for you. But if that's not you then it will cause you more headache and money than it is worth, especially if you don't really know how to drive fast cars. If you want reliable and fun though I'd prob look at something like the lexus IS 500 F Sport or the RC F.
Really dumb idea for you, just keep your current car
just get a nice car (BMW, Mercedes etc.) nothing flashy or very high end, will be fun and sporty without being irresponsible, and since it's a nice car will reflect well on you if that's what you want
A used Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, or Lexus IS could be great options, flashy yet reliable. If you're unsure, though, it might be smarter to wait and save a bit more before going for something flashy.
Acura Integra Type S if you can drive a manual. Most fun car I’ve ever driven and yes it’s FWD.
everybody knows 2-3 year old Mercedes e class is the answer here. Black exterior and light interior as well.
Acura
Toyota Supra
Im planning on picking up something cheap but new like a civic hybrid or something. I love cars but any new enthusiast car is pricey af especially on an analyst budget. From what I’ve seen people start to upgrade car wise when they reach associate which is what I’m planning on doing. Hopefully I’ll be able to get into an M2 once my analyst years are over.
Consider leasing- Honda/Toyota can have some really inexpensive lease deals that are a great value, especially if you aren't putting tons of miles on it.
Yeah that’s the plan rn. With leasing incentives I can get into a car for ~300 a month before insurance.
Will probably finance other cars in the future as I can start to afford nicer cars I’d want to keep for a while but the lease makes sense rn.
