Career Banking at BB Capital Markets?
How do you think about aiming a career banker at Capital Markets vs. Coverage group or PE? In terms of competition, it seems much less intense to go up the ladder, with better hour and similar pay. Exit opp would be indeed limited, but I don't see any merit in going into PE unless I have a special network/background to succeed as a Partner in the future. If there are any people who transitioned into PE/Coverage from Capital Markets, can you share your experience/advice on this? Thank you
Interesting thought experiment - seems like capital market would be a a sustainable grind of sorts. I’ve heard DCM would be better than ECM in that case for longevity since there’s a bit more protection in a bearish market. Would definitely want to hear other perspectives
