Does anyone out there have any information on changing careers from Commercial Banking to I-Banking at Citigroup? I've heard that some people do and I just want to know how effective the training/experience is for someone to make that type of move. Thoughts?

i have a buddy working in Citi IB, he did the same, they will train you from scratch if ure coming in at an anal/ass role.
how do u plan to do this though? will u call ur HR rep for the transfer? what matters a lot is what u are currently doing in commercial group..what is it that ure doing there?
Sorry - I should be clearer. I'm trying to change from Consulting to I-Banking and thought this might be a potential path to prove myself and then make the move (if I can't get in the normal way).
