Certificates for IB career

Hello. I am starting as a sophomore this fall and I will be starting to apply for summer internships in IB. Do you think a certificate like the FMVA certification program will benefit and help me to land an internship? And will this certificate benefit me further in my career when I start to search for a job?

If the FMVA wont benefit me is there any other certificates that would benefit more?

I did some research on this topic but I didn't manage to come with a conclusion, hope there are others out there with the same questions.

Link to the FMVA: https://corporatefinanceinstitute.com/certificati…

Thanks.

I did the FMVA. The skills that you gain are indeed important - financial modeling, building pitchbooks on Powerpoint, DCF modeling, LBOs, advanced Excel (they even have VBA), accounting. So you should easily crack the technical part of your interviews. However, no one cares where you've learned that and that you have a shiny paper. It won't let you stand out as those are the skills you are expected to have.

“Destiny is a gift. Some go their entire lives, living existences of quiet desperation, never learning the truth that what feels as though a burden pushing down upon their shoulders is really a sense of purpose that lifts us to greater heights. Never forget that fear is but the precursor to valor, that to strive and triumph in the face of fear is what it means to be a hero. Don’t think. Become.”
