Charges and Breaking into IB

Hi everyone,

So recently I was charged with Poss. of Marijuana and Petty Larceny (both misdemeanors) in VA. I ended up taking a plea deal to dismiss (nolle prosequi) the petty larceny charge, even though I was innocent. I took the deal since the optics on the case were, as my lawyer put it, 50-50 and I realized that a larceny charge would keep me out of IB, because of FINRA regulation, if I was found guilty. The marijuana charge will be null prossed once I complete my probation in 6 months but will remain on my record. With any luck I'll be able to get the larceny charge expunged after my probation is complete. That being said VA has some strict expungement laws, and worst case scenario the arrest and null prossed larceny charge will still be on my record. In said scenario, what are my chances of breaking into IB? What is my best course of action going forward in interviews whether for internships or jobs? Is it still possible to get to Wall Street given these circumstances? And a little about myself, I am a rising junior at a non target school with a 3.7 GPA. Thanks for the help.
