cfaboston28Why do you need a roommate in Charlotte? Apartments are so cheap compare to NYC, Boston, SFO etc. You should live by yourself. with roommate comes responsilities which could become annoying soon

Cheap but not ridiculously cheap. This isn't Winston-Salem we are talking about.

Also, from the sounds of his username he might be international and I could see the benefit of living with someone from the states.

"For I am a sinner in the hands of an angry God. Bloody Mary full of vodka, blessed are you among cocktails. Pray for me now and at the hour of my death, which I hope is soon. Amen."

Apartments aren't really that cheap in Uptown Charlotte. For a 1BR you're looking @ 1k+ And that's the bottom end of the scale. Renting is become more prevalent and more expensive down there. You're actually better off buying a condo if you can swing the down payment.

To OP, I would suggest looking @ the Camden Properties, Fifth & Poplar (best appt complex in the city), and 4th ward.

While apartments are less expensive than NYC or Chicago they're not dirt cheap. It will be more affordable with a roommate. I don't intend to be in the room much and figured this would be the most convenient and cost conscious method.

Airport wasn't too bad when I flew in for my interviews. Sucks you had a bad experience. Nothing is worse than Boston though. Incoming international connecting flights through there are terrible!
