CIT Group - Financial Analysts

Searched on this company but only dated and limited info. Anybody familiar with them? It seems they are trying to build an advisory practice in corporate finance after the restructuring. Still mostly senior loans to sponsored companies? Seems like a mix of corporate banking, leveraged finance, loan syndication experience.

What are the exit opportunities like from this program? Pay?

Thanks

They were hiring for a HC analyst a few months back - definitely MM and headed by John Thain. Apparently on a rebound, but can't really speak to that.

Calm down.

I interviewed for one of their Corporate Finance groups about a year ago. Very good hours (off at 6:30 according to current analyst) and laid back people. The role seemed like it was basically a typical corporate lending/banking role at a commercial bank, except very modelling heavy. You will attend a 6-week credit course in NY that teaches you most of the modelling though.

I have no idea about comps though cause I was dinged after final round interviews.

Not sure what you are struggling with. CIT is a major non-bank lender, similar to GE Capital. Company has been in some trouble the past few years, but I think things have stabilized. You may want to ask a question about how things stand, what the company did, etc.

Have no idea on comp, hours, etc., but it will be much better than IB (probably 40-60 hrs/wk).
