Citi MD doesn’t sound that bad…

I recognize that times have changed, but i can think of numerous bankers I’ve worked with directly who are significantly worse than the ECM MD who was just put on leave.

Begs the question if everyone will eventually get take out, or this was a fluke. Agree?

I don't think "I've had it worse so the rest of you need to suffer" is the right approach here

The horrendous culture in IB has gotten this way because bad deeds much worse than this went unpunished for so long. In any other job, an MD using slurs and bullying juniors would be gone within minutes. It only takes a few of these public firings before MDs start thinking twice about their language and behavior.

I had a toxic Md starting out, like mind games and head fucks every day. He would set meetings to train you then not show, then laugh at you while walking by to go to lunch thru the glass door.

would not wish that on anyone, my current boss is a hard worker and we put the hours in, but it’s a healthy atmosphere and good culture so attrition is pretty low.
