Citi vs Barclays vs Baml
Can anyone provide insight on a ranking of the three based on PE/buyside placement? Any information helps, especially on individual group comparisons within the firms such as who has the strongest power, industrials, fig etc.

It corresponds roughly to PE exits too but is of course highly group dependent

Citi - M&A, FIG, C&R BAML - LevFin, REGAL, FSG Barclays, Natural Resources, P&U, FSG
GS/MS/JPM are on a tier of their own, but these three banks are in the second tier and pretty even. Although, each one has its strengths.
This is a good list of the top groups. Would put Barclays a league below the other two especially outside of Natural Resources

This list is not very accurate in EMEA, but would say that it holds for the US (except having barclays in the same tier)
Not accurate in the US either (as someone else in BB IBD), but they are the same tier over here as well. Hope france is not too affected by all that's going on!

Citi barely does any meaningful work in Consumer Retail and their Industrials platform is much better than their CR platform.
At Barclays, Healthcare and Consumer Retail perform way better than FSG

Absolutely agree with this. Citi C&R is pretty weak. Also it is separated into Consumer Products and Retail because there was drama at the senior level so you are pigeonholed into either Consumer or Retail. Also it does not do any substantial work at all, especially the Consumer side. Haven't come across them in any major deals and heard the seniors were absolute jokes.
For Barclays, are HC and Consumer better for PE exits as well?
This is more so regarding PE exits, Barclays FSG exits better imo.
Where would Credit Suisse fall on this?
