Cleaning Previous Transactions sheet

I'm currently preparing for an interview in which I'll be asked to clean an excel spreadsheet of previous transactions.

Could you give me your recommendations on how best to do this?

At the moment, I'm mainly looking at 5 elements:

1. Business sector: portfolio of comparable products, comparable business sector
2. Size: Market capitalisation, sales
3. Geography: geographical presence
4. Transaction characteristics: percentage of ownership if known
5. Timing: if the transaction took place more than 5 years ago, for example
