College Choice
Hey guys,
Well, I was admitted to Vandy on a full ride, Dartmouth, Duke, and Wharton (LSM). Right now, I plan to enroll at Wharton because I was admitted into their LSM program where I can receive both a BS in Finance and BA in Biology. The program is pretty awesome and exposes me to my two passions: business and medicine. Additionally, it also hooks me up with both a business and then a bio internship which are allegedly much better internships than what I could find on my own. However, I did get a full ride to Vandy whereas I'll have 2 pay 20k a year at Penn (my parents will cover it...but they refuse to cover grad school costs if I go on there from Penn). The thing is I really am not sure what I want to do. I am very, very interested in Healthcare administration, Medicine, and Ibanking in some healthcare sector. So, which college would be best for me. Additionally, how doe these fields compare in terms of salary and stability?

Hmm...I mean I know that Wharton is king of Ibanking. However, would a Wharton degree be worth the costs if I did decide healthcare management or medicine?

Wharton, hands down. I would not turn Wharton down for anything, even HYP.
At the undergraduate level, Wharton is king in just about every business field.
Go to Vandy. They have the hottest girls.

I hope you realize that there are only 25 students a year in the LSM program. If you write your name on here, it will be only to easy to figure out who you are. Be careful mate.
You're in a tough situation, but I'd give the edge to Wharton. If money weren't an issue at all, Wharton would clearly be the way forward. Given that money is a bit of a worry (otherwise, you wouldn't be asking this question), I'd probably still go to Wharton. Yeah, 20k per year isn't nothing, but you're not burying yourself in debt either.
And you may say you're interested in medicine right now, but let's be serious, you're 17-18 years old--it's unlikely you know what you want to do when you grow up, and Wharton offers the best exit opportunities to both fields. UPENN is a better school than Vanderbilt in any case, so you'll be more competitive for medical school admissions coming from there. And Wharton is the best undergraduate business school period, so your finance/consulting opportunities will be much better coming from Wharton than Vandy.
If you had a STRONG preference for going to school in the South, and knew that you wanted to go into medicine, I might suggest taking Vandy (if your parents are willing to pony up for medical school given that you take a full-ride to undergrad). Coming from the UPENN LSM program, you will be better positioned for scholarship opportunities to medical school (so long as you do extremely well in the program).
You should also know that UPenn girls are fucking horrific-looking. Seriously. Aside from that, I think it's not a particularly difficult decision, but good luck with the choice!

I went to Wharton UG, I'll admit Vandy has way better girls. Penn does have above average girls when compared to the rest of the Ivy league and SM though, and they are down 90% of the time. Penn kids know how to party and actually have social lives. Penn has the biggest college party on the east coast as well, Spring Fling. Great memories. But, if you go to Wharton and make it, you'll be dating models when you're rolling in cash. My wife is an air stewardess, very hot. Listening to 50 cent's '21 questions' freaks her out ....

Anyway, you know you could be in a healthcare group at investment bank, so that combine both of your interests.
Oh yeah, congrats on your acceptances. The places you got into are fucking impressive and will open doors for you wherever you go, some more than others, but have fun wherever you go
Personally, I'd choose Dartmouth, but since you seem pretty set on Wharton good luck.
Can you do 2 free years at Vandy and transfer to a better school? I mean if you are smart enough to get a full ride, you will probably get decent grades to transfer to a target school.

Two years at Vandy and transferring isn't a bad idea. It would save you a ton of money.
However, transferring into Wharton from an outside school is rather difficult and not something you can count on. Also, you probably want to have some stability in your social life. Starting fresh at a new school after two years can be tough.
Just go to Wharton
OMFG DO NOT DO NOT EVEN THINK OF TRANSFERING ITS A FUCKIN BITCH AND YOU WILL HATE YOURSELF. Seriously, go to Wharton. Kick GPA Ass. Go party, hear Penn's the Social Ivy and get whatever job you want after college. You will save yourself significant time, money and most important your sanity cause transferring is horrible.
