Corporate Finance to IB?

Considering a senior financial analyst role at one of (top 3) the largest life science companies in the world, very reputable. But, in the future, I want to break into IB/ER, preferably in life sci, but not picky on desk.

This SFA role involves accounting, business dev activity, and some financial modeling + valuation, think there will be m&a involved as that is a core business activity. Anyone made the transition from corporate finance to IB? Ik it'll be an uphill battle, just wanted to see if anyone has treaded a similar path + has insight. If it helps I went to HYP undergrad. Just not landing anything in IB atm and want a new job sooner rather than later, but afraid i'm potentially closing doors by taking this role.
