Corporate ladder or family business

I have to admit this is a privileged difficult choice at this economy. I’m in my early 20s and I have a great IB job at BB in an expensive city. Tbh the pay is great, but after tax, rent, food, and all the miscellaneous expenses basically end up with no savings. I do love the job, I enjoy the prestigiousness when I talk about my work and I’m good at what I do.

While back home, my parents run a small but successful business. They founded the business years before I was born. My family have 20+ employees and companies at three locations internationally. They have always wanted me to join and become the owner eventually. My parents were very generous and bought me a boogie condo with full payment, no mortgage. Obviously, they really wanted me to move back and I can live a very comfortable life back home. My mom especially, she was very against for me to go into finance in the very beginning. She sees my job as inhumane and not that good of a pay (lol) when counting the hours + amount of work. She has this negative stereotype towards Wall Street career in general.

My parents’ business is nothing finance related, not even close tbh. Completely two different industries. The house, the car, and everything they offered me are very tempting. But I’m sensing the family business means there will be arguments, working with family is more challenging when it comes to communications and expectations. I am the only child of the family, they do put a lot of expectations on me.

What would you do in my situation?
