Credit Suisse Corporate Insights Group
Does anyone know what the Corporate Insights Group at Credit Suisse do? From what I read, they are consultants and don't actually do banking work. Do other banks have similar groups?

That is correct. This team does little to no banking work although they might claim that they do. The work is extremely specific to Credit Suisse as it's uses a proprietary database. The nature of work is very repetitive, so you make the same pages over and over again. Wouldn't recommend this team unless you have absolutely no other options.
Would also note that the team culture is very toxic, especially the recently promoted VP - kind of a bully. Most of the people end up leaving / lateraling - the turn over is very high to say the least. Hope this helps!

This group is under the IB banking division; does some shareholder activism, very valuation heavy, works on strategic alternatives analysis. They build analyses and materials used directly in CFO and Board discussions, partners closely with coverage groups on M&A.
