Credit Suisse Frankfurt

Hi all -

Was wondering if anyone had any experience with Credit Suisse’s Frankfurt office? Anything would be helpful (culture, deal flow, post brexit general opinion, etc.)

I know corporately they are in a rough patch but I’m evaluating it as part of a push to move internationally and it is at the offer stage.

are you American OP? what's your german like and how'd you learn? thinking of something similar

Very high turnover rates (team has changed over 90% in the last 1.5 years) and they are known for working very long hours with the culture being one of the worst. Lost many seniors recently as well. Very close relationship with Bayer but apart from that deal flow is limited and oftentimes also lead by London.

Btw you definitely don't need to be fluent at all to work at CS or any other BB in Frankfurt.

CS Culture is pretty good at the moment. In reaction to many people leaving and the rough reputation, CS introduced protected Saturdays, no marketing on Sundays, flexible home office days, etc. Dealflow is indeed heavily dependent on long-term clients, but that is why they almost only work on large deals.

You don't have to speak German, but it will help you to socialize with your colleagues. However, there are also other English natives in the team without German skills.
