DB -Industrials Coverage Analyst role
I know that they lost plenty of people recently and looking to add few juniors.
Anyone in the process after posting of the job?

Anyone in the process after posting of the job?
Career Resources
I applied but nothing so far…
who replies via application these days?
I still gets interview via applying online - you need to have a good name on your CV otherwise it is like a blackhole
no one
They are hiring in all teams but heard Industrial is top team
What do you mean, they are hiring in all teams? There are no job postings beside this one. Is it on the downlow?
I saw consumer and FIG also hiring
Industrial team are struggling on Trump tariffs
you are a total Joke mate
I think it created more opportunities within sub-sectors likes of Chemicals, Defence and others. Trump tariffs just put things on hold
Stay for away from this place
Do you work there - I have heard all kind of stories tbh..
Why?
In terms of hours, culture, and other stuff do you know anything about
like all places so it is kind well-know phrase
Anyone in the process on all above people?
nothing so far on my side - maybe give August is slow
everyone OOO and you want a process?
I can understand that if people are on leave but it has to start at some point if they are interested to hire.
yeah that could be an issue and there is total silence on all places. I have not seen any job posting
Heard from a friend there that it's a sweatshop
yeah - big team and shit load of deals
Sweatshop but still best M&A deal exposure you can get at DB (albeit TMT on par lately). L6M exits include Oaktree and Bain Cap as well as laterals to GS and JPM
Do you know if they have kick off the process?
What are the best groups at DB
REGLL is best coverage team at DB in terms of M&A deals, league tables, etc. Consumer also pretty solid.
like all industry teams so normal stuff
which one is not
Agree with others that you should steer away from this place. It’s a sweatshop without any deal flow to show for it
What DB as a whole or are you taking about specific team?
DB IND. The rest of the bank isn’t as bad culture wise
Anyone have opinions on the FIG team? they are also hiring
I saw that they have been hiring since this May and took someone from HSBC and still in the market for an analyst and associate
Thanks mate yep heard the same, appreciate it
Great team with a great culture. Constantly makes juniors feel appreciated and often going out together as a whole team.
If you have the time no stress PM me I would appreciate perspectives re. Interviews
Do you work at DB by chance?
Can second the note on FIG culture from a friend working there. I've heard that the dealflow is also currently very strong, hence all the hiring effort
I have not seen any good amount deal flow but heard growing..
cannot understand why they are losing and hiring again again
Seems like a lot of banks are hiring like crazy in industrials.
1) there has been insane attrition across most IND groups due to their sweaty nature and the fact they’ve been subsidizing other groups the past 3 or so years
2) there is a TON of deal flow in the space (even more this year), further exacerbating the burnout issue.
OP, did you look around to see if any other banks are hiring in industrials? DB is in the crapper a bit, if there are opportunities elsewhere it’s worth considering.
very good points on IND
I have seen that people leave after 2 to 3 year gig at most of IND group.
my group at BofA is not very famous of a lot of deal and I must move before another..
normal IBD
Yeah my 80% class left for PE and Corp Development
If there is a team to join at DB it is without doubt LevFin but Industrials, though historically has been its legacy and strongest M&A team, TMT is now DB's M&A machine.
In Industrials, you do BB hours and do not reap the same BB benefits.
Disagree with you google this “Deutsche Bank Is Losing Its Edge in Leveraged Finance Deals”
They let go a lot of people few years ago and now trying to rebuild
I am talking about EMEA - US Leveraged Finance at DB has always been on the weaker side as of recent years. Easily overpowered by US BBs.
Bloomberg put a nice piece on this topic
One thing worth noting is industrials is a “strong group” across most banks, because the industry is fragmented and there are lots of deals to go around. This is both good and bad… I got lots of deal reps in industrials, but it was frustrating looking around at other groups doing very little and still getting paid via subsidy.
OP I’d definitely broaden your search and find a bank you really want to be at… if you want to do IND, groups are hiring at lots of places due to high turnover and strong deal flow in the sector.
Given alll teams are strong - it is quite hard to see where I find myself. I think it about people who you work for rather than team or bank.
What is your take on this?
That’s the right way to think about it. You’ll generally get good deal flow in IND no matter where you go. So pick the bank / group that you align with the best from a culture, people standpoint.
good luck with this
Majority of hiring has been associate rather than analyst if not very limited
at Analyst level is always limited hiring given the pool of candiates from summer intern so normal
Also it would be great if any DB insider get us some information on hiring for this analyst role as nobody has received a call for interview yet.
We are still looking at them
Any insight when the interview process kick-off?
on weekend everyone wants to sleep rather than replying to you mate
On weekend…end of August…just prior to LDW…
work all this weekend and could not take any holidays this summer so..
what is LDW mate?
Labor Day Weekend…traditionally summer slow down last week or two of August. Things pick up in earnest post LDW
Hoping for it
offices and city is still empty
asd
all random stuff
DB IND is a total sweatshop and extremely top heavy. MDs are aware it is an issue
Not many MDs compared to Other banks
GS / JPM / MS / Citi have the biggest teams in IND - know that JPM is hiring at all level in all verticals
