Deal sourcing job

Current BB An2… Have a potential offer to join a PE advisory firm that focuses on deal sourcing for PE firms. Any thoughts on this type of firm? Does it limit my ability to move into a PE or hedge fund type role down the line?

Base Is lower than what I currently make, but bonus potential is much higher. They bonus on a per deal basis.

My guess is lower than what you're thinking.. sales-based comp is fine if you are selling a quality product, maybe I am jaded but the sourcing companies I see are mostly trying to sell shitty assets no one wants, which is not a fun situation to be in. The people make very little and leave quickly.

If you're still considering it, I'd ask how many deals their recent ASOs have closed per year, and diligence if they have high turnover
