Debt Private Placement inquiry

Hi! - I just received an offer from a MM DCM team. Essentially, they serve as a broker between private companies looking to raise debt and club lenders (BDCs, PE, Credit Funds), and focus mostly on lev. loans/hy debt. Is there anyone that can tell me more about these types of groups/how they function/skills learned/exit opps?

I know a typical DCM team would work on IG loans, but this doesn't seem the case here. My goal is to develop a skill set applicable to PE, so I'm trying to see if this is the offer I should take! Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated - Thanks in advance!!
