Based on the most helpful WSO content, sending a thank-you email within 24 hours is generally recommended, as it keeps the interaction fresh in the recipient's mind. However, timing can be nuanced, especially when it comes to weekends.

Here’s the play:

  • If you send it Friday evening: It’s perfectly fine, as professionals often check emails sporadically over the weekend. Just keep it concise and professional. This ensures you meet the 24-hour window and shows promptness.

  • If you wait until Monday morning: This can also work well, especially if the person mentioned weekend plans. Sending it early Monday ensures it’s at the top of their inbox when they start their week, which can be advantageous.

Both options are valid, but if you’re concerned about appearing intrusive, Monday morning might be the safer bet. Just make sure the email is thoughtful, error-free, and reiterates your appreciation for their time.

Ignore title, can do a scheduled send for Monday AM (but when doing scheduled send, make sure it’s like 9:03 or an odd time so it doesn’t look like scheduled send.) Honestly, as long as it’s a thoughtfully written and genuine note that’s the most important. Some kids forget to send thank you notes at all. Few weeks ago had a coffee chat with a kid who went to my school late Friday afternoon, he sent a really genuine email maybe 3 hours later and made me feel glad that I met with him even though work had been crushing me last few weeks. If he had sent Monday 9AM instead wouldn’t have thought any less. Friday night would be okay as long as it’s before maybe 6/7. Overall, just be a genuine and respectful/kind person, you’ll be surprised how many people will go out of their way to help you out
