Based on previous WSO threads, the large tech PE funds participating in the on-cycle process include:
However, specific mentions of Silver Lake Partners (SLP), Thoma Bravo (TB), Vista Equity Partners, and Francisco Partners (FP) participating in the on-cycle process are not explicitly detailed in the provided context.
For more detailed and updated information, it might be beneficial to check the latest discussions on WSO or reach out to industry contacts.

Haven’t heard anything from any of them? Probably a smart decision on their end tbh
They never do. Wonder if it’s because they know they are the most desired industry coverage / seats in private equity so they know they can get a solid class regardless
I got reached out for the process with UMM Tech PE fund.
STG is full already I believe, or at least mostly full
Damn were you in the on-cycle process with STG?
any idea if vista goes off cycle? did they go off cycle in recent times for associate positions and what time of the year?
can weirdly find absolutely no information about vista's off cycle situation but have also seen analysts who worked 2-3 year jobs at other firms and aren't associates. is it headhunter based or do they have online job postings.
No clue whether Vista goes on or off cycle, but like others have said, it’s probably off cycle for a very few spots (relative to other MFs) given their analyst program that is literally their associate pipeline.
Regarding the people who have worked other jobs but aren’t associates, those are Vista’s “experienced hires” who join the analyst cohorts. I believe the only way you are eligible to be an associate at Vista is with either a 2-year IB or PE analyst program prior to joining.
so re the experienced hires who join the analyst cohorts - if you had to guess would these folks be applying through an online job posting or some headhunter (running a separate "off-cycle" process from associates)
